Tip #1 - Accept Your Challenges
You're going to experience numerous challenges. They may come in the form of struggles committing to a new nutrition or exercise plan, a lack of motivation or discouragement, disappointment when things are not going as planned and the list goes on. Accept that you will face these obstacles along the way and come up with a plan to overcome them from the get-go.
Tip #2 - Write It Down
When you decide to partake on a new fitness journey, write your goals down. While doing this, you would want to categorize them as well. Nutrition, exercise, self care etc. Once you have your goals categorized the next step will be to have a plan to achieve your goals.
Tip #3 - Document Your Journey
It's important to document your journey so you can track your progress or lack of. Some popular ways would be taking your "before" pictures, your measurements and your weight at the start of your program. You can also look into keeping note of your meals, workouts, moods, sleep patterns, work schedule etc. All the information gathered will help you understand yourself and what worked and did not work for you, a lot better in the long-run.
Tip #4 - Choose Sustainability
There are a million different nutrition and workout programs on the market. What works for one person may not work for the other, for various reasons. You need to choose things that are sustainable for you. Don't look for the quick fix but look for the lifestyle change. What nutrition and workout plan can you embark on not only for the next 3 months, but for the years to come? Sustainability is key and starting with baby steps is definitely okay!
